Morning, leave for half day sightseeing tour of Muscat city. Muscat is a living example of how elements of modern world could be efficiently blended with the centuries old traditions, heritage and sentiments of the local people.
The tour starts with a visit to the Grand Mosque,then proceed to the grandeur of the Al Bustan Palace Hotel – a palace hotel exclusively built for an annual Conference of the Heads of the Gulf countries and to show off the wealth of the sultanate to the Arab World. Then proceed to the spectacular Al Alam Palace for photo session and continue the scenic drive along the beautiful corniche road to the traditional Souq (local market) in old Muttrah- an excellent place to observe the local culture and life –style in originality.
Morning, begin the adventure part of your tour with a drive in a 4WD through the costal road via Quriyat village to Wadi Shab. Continue to Wadi Tiwi, 2 km along the coast road after water pools. We stop here for the picnic lunch. Another interesting town en route is Qalhat. This is one of the oldest towns and seaports in Oman .
In the evening, we arrive at Ras Al Hadd. After sunset, visit the famous turtle beach to watch the green turtle's nesting. Stay overnight at the camping site in tents enjoying the BBQ dinner.
Leave Ras Al Hadd in the morning for Wadi Bani Khalid, the town named after the local head of tribe. The track winds and climbs steeply giving splendid views over the fertile wadi and the long belt of green date plantations. Wadi Bani Khalid is surrounded by date palm trees and tropical fruit plantations.
Here in an idyllic setting for a dip in the crystal clear water pools. We lunch here before proceeding to the magical Wahiba Sands. The local tribes ‘Bedu' greet us along the way. After watching a spectacular sunset, an Arabic BBQ dinner will be served. Overnight in tents under the stars.
Morning, depart for an exciting 4WD across the challenging Sand dunes – one of the wonders of nature! Arrive at Nizwa. Nizwa is one of the most historically important cities in Oman .
Visit the Nizwa Fort and the traditional Souq. The Souq or the local market has on offer interesting silver jewelry, antiques and pottery items.
Afternoon, proceed to wander in the ruins of Tanuf village which was destroyed during a war. Continue to Jabel Shams, ‘mountain of the sun', is the tallest peak in Oman 3,009 meters. Here the gravel road climbs up through some spectacular scenery. We find a suitable place and stay overnight at the camp site,enjoying a bbq dinner .
Morning, descend the mountain to leave for the mystical town of Bahla ,. Visit the massive Bahla fort and the Souq that sells Omani crafts including fine pottery. Return back to Muscat through Wadi Ghul,Wadi Bani Auf,and Biladsayt.Arrival Muscat,check-in at hotel for overnight stay .
